SBCC Radiologic Technology Program
Radiologic Technology or Radiography, (aka X-ray) is the art and science of using radiation (X-ray) to create images of bones, organs, and soft tissues that comprise the human body. Radiologic Technology combines advanced imaging technologies and human compassion for the diagnosis and assessment of diseases. Radiologic Technologists (RT) use their knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, physics, radiographic positioning and techniques to create permanent digital medical images.
The Radiologic Technology profession has advanced and expanded into the specialized areas of computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), mammography to name a few post primary pathways. The profession continues to grow and advance as does the demand for qualified RTs.
The Radiologic Technology Degree Program at SBCC prepares you to work as a RT in the medical field. Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Examination (ARRT).
